Our History

National Mattress didn’t start out as the company it is today. In fact, in the original model we manufactured mattresses ourselves!

But we’ve always been about growth, evolution, and progress. That’s what led us to the unstoppable path were on today.

In The Beginning

National Mattress was just a vision. Founder and CEO Rafal Kieliszek saw holes in traditional mattress stores business models. “Big box” furniture and mattress stores were typically full of commissioned salespeople that had limited knowledge about the products they were selling. The customer always came second to the commission they were trying to squeeze out of the sale.

Your only other option was small mattress stores selling cheap quality mattresses at discounted rates.

There was nothing in the middle – nothing that gave the average consumer a place to buy a good quality brand name mattress at a good price. No place that would educate the customer first, and then sell the them a mattress that best suits their needs.

At First

We did tremendous research into the mattress industry and the various types of mattresses available. We taught ourselves everything there is to know, and then sourced the best quality mattresses, from the best suppliers, at the best prices. Product knowledge and honest pricing became the core model of our business.

Next, we incorporated technology and built a website where people could learn about mattresses and about our business. We have positioned ourselves to be one of the best ranking mattress stores in the online world. We have continually made advancements to our online platform to make the mattress buying experience simpler and better, and we continue to keep up with emerging trends and technology to stay ahead of the competition.

Finally

We had to create a culture that you couldn’t find anywhere else.

“If we made selling mattresses fun, informative, and sales pressure free, I knew that our customers would remember the experience forever and tell all their friends and family about how amazing we are!” Rafal stated.

Friendship, support, and honesty were the keystones for the culture he sought to create. As soon as someone walked through the door, he wanted them to get hit with a “blast” of information, fun, and confidence in our brand.

They’re enthusiastically greeted, met with warn eye contact, and treated like friends – the first time they walk in the door.

Today

The culture continues to grow, our business model has been improved, continues to be perfected, and National Mattress as a whole keeps getting better and better.
